چکیده

I recall the well-known sufficient conditions for the bound r < 16ǫ on the spectrum of the primordial tensor perturbation. Two recent papers claim a violation of this bound, without stating explicitely any violation of the sufficient conditions. The following conditions are sufficient for the bound r < 16ǫ on the primordial tensor perturbation. • Inflation is of the slow-roll variety. • The curvature perturbation is generated from the vacuum fluctuation of one or more light scalar fields. • Einstein gravity holds during and after inflation. Light fields are here defined as those whose vacuum fluctuations generate classical perturbations a few Hubble times after horizon exit, which are uncorrelated and have a spectrum well-approximated by (H/2π). According to the second condition, these perturbations provide the initial condition for the evolution of the curvature perturbation. Taking into account also the first condition, the spectrum of the curvature perturbation is of the form

On the Exponent of Triple Tensor Product of p-Groups

The non-abelian tensor product of groups which has its origins in algebraic K-theory as well as inhomotopy theory, was introduced by Brown and Loday in 1987. Group theoretical aspects of non-abelian tensor products have been studied extensively. In particular, some studies focused on the relationship between the exponent of a group and exponent of its tensor square. On the other hand, com...

Spectral Index in Curvaton Scenario

A red tilted primordial power spectrum is preferred by WMAP five-year data and a large positive local-type non-Gaussianity fNL might be observed as well. In this short note we find that a red tilted and large non-Gaussian primordial power spectrum cannot be naturally obtained in curvaton model, because fNL is related to the initial condition of inflation. Inflation [1] provides an elegant mecha...

Constraints on the primordial curvature perturbation from primordial black holes

We calculate the constraints on the primordial curvature perturbation at the end of inflation from the present day abundance of Primordial Black Holes (PBHs), as a function of the reheat temperature TRH. We first extend recent work on the formation of PBHs on scales which remain within the horizon during inflation and calculate the resulting constraints on the curvature perturbation. We then ev...

Scalar field potential in inflationary models: Reconstruction and further constraints.

In this paper, we present quantitative constraints on the scalar field potential for a general class of inflationary models. (1) We first consider the reconstruction of the inflationary potential for given primordial density fluctuation spectra. Our work differs from previous work on reconstruction in that we find a semi-analytic solution for the potential for the case of density fluctuations w...

Perturbation bounds for $g$-inverses with respect to the unitarily invariant norm

Let complex matrices $A$ and $B$ have the same sizes. Using the singular value decomposition, we characterize the $g$-inverse $B^{(1)}$ of $B$ such that the distance between a given $g$-inverse of $A$ and the set of all $g$-inverses of the matrix $B$ reaches minimum under the unitarily invariant norm. With this result, we derive additive and multiplicative perturbation bounds of the nearest per...
